Uganda Wildlife Authority (UWA) is a semi-autonomous agency under the Ministry of Tourism, Wildlife and Antiquities. UWA was established in 1996 and is managed in accordance with the Uganda Wildlife Act, Cap 315. The Mission of UWA is: “To conserve, economically develop and sustainably manage the Wildlife and protected areas of Uganda in partnership with neighboring communities and the other stakeholders for the benefit of the people and the global community”.

MAIN PURPOSE OF THE JOB
To protect wildlife resources, property and human life in the Protected Area of deployment.

REPORTS TO: IMMEDIATE SUPERVISOR
SUPERVISES: NONE

DURATION: FOUR (4) YEARS RENEWABLE
MAIN PURPOSE OF THE JOB
To protect wildlife resources, property and human life in the Protected Area of deployment.

KEY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
(i) Conducting patrols/ Operations to protect wildlife resources in and around the protected Areas.
(ii) Detecting and proactively preventing wildlife crime.
(iii) Arresting, searching and supporting prosecution of suspects involved in illegal Wildlife activities
(NV) Providing security to wildlife resources, property, staff and visitors within the protected Areas.
(v) Collecting and recording field data for Management decision making
(vi) Supporting problem animal control
(vii) Supporting the rescue, capture and translocation of wildlife
(vili) Operating radios and disseminating information to relevant personnel.
(ix) Gathering and relaying intelligence to relevant personnel.
(x) Monitoring protected area boundaries and deter encroachment.
(xi) Undertaking wildlife inventories and surveys.
(xii) Preparing and submitting operational reports

(i) QUALIFICATIONS
Uganda Certificate of Education with at least a pass in English Language.
(ii) EXPERIENCE: NIL

 Proven Medical and physical fitness

daytime telephone contact, copy of National ID and copies of academic documents.

from Kampala District should submit to the Uganda Wildlife Education Centre Conservation Area,
